A nice space to use as a base for visiting York. A short walk from the city centre - and a stone's throw from a walk along the river - it's a pleasant, comfortable stay. My room was basic but comfortable and had everything I needed. It was also very quiet despite being part of a pub.

Property was excellent value for money, a short walk outside York city centre. Room was more than adequate, clean and spacious with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was full English with possibly the largest piece of black pudding I've seen. The bar is well stocked and we ate there on our first night, food was good and reasonably priced. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Light Horseman and it will be top of our list for our next stop in the city.

Short walk into York Centre either straight up the road or via the Canal 10-15 min stroll. Good budget hotel to stay in York with free parking. Staff were great and really helpful. Only downside of the room was the single glaze windows. The hotel is on quite a busy road so if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs or get a room at the back of the hotel.

Fantastic room, clean, comfortable, spacious and quiet. Great location, just a short stroll to the city wall and city centre. Owner was very friendly, letting us use the carpark after we checked out. Will definitely visit again
