“I would never stay here again. It’s beautiful yet totally impractical for guests. There is a “no shoes allowed” policy meaning I slipped as I carried my bags up multiple flights of stairs in socks, no air conditioning & no actual shower (just a large bath with hand-held shower handle). I think the owners have severely misjudged what the average guest wants. I paid about the same the week before nearby at the Premier Inn for all the amenities I wanted in a better location. I’ll be staying there...

“Nice big bed for a double room, easy to facilitate our night stay and we made use of the sauna and steam room. the breakfast buffet was surprisingly good compared to other hotel buffets ive had, it was very fresh even when eating a couple hours after open. The exterior made it seem a bit dingy but i thought the hotel was of a very decent standard and we enjoyed our stay!”

“It was lovely we stayed for 2 nights for our wedding. We stayed in the Balfour suite. The breakfast was delicious, and the service was great too. Really made our wedding extra special having such a nice place to get ready and to come back to after the party”

“Staff and breakfast are really good. Parking is easy and free. We have to pay for breakfast despite putting breakfast request through Expedia. It is good hotel. Needs touch up on stairs. No lift available.”

“Great village pub in a quiet village, rooms are great and have everything you need - nice touch of breakfast cereals, milk, yogurts and fruit for breakfast. Staff are all very helpful. The pub has an excellent food menu with lots of choices, we had our evening meal here. A great nights stay before we headed for Le Shuttle which was only 40 minutes away, an ideal stopover to start our trip.”

“This accommodation is excellent. It is a converted boat which was built in 1839 and used as a floating lighthouse off the east coast of England. The owners are polite and helpful and are on site.”

“The property was in a fairytale house in a magical location. All the little extra touches - such as bathrobes and slippers. daily complimentary water, chocolate etc - were truly the icing on the cake. The staff showed a real pride in working at the Castle and truly helped to set the atmosphere. Check-in and out were brilliant. The restaurant was superb with a jaw-dropping view of the Castle and sumptuous breakfast. If you think I seem enthusiastic it is because I am!”
