“Great base for walking in Langdale, you go straight out of the back door and up to Stickle Tarn. Excellent breakfast with good choices, a good selection for the evening meal and the Old DG hotel 15 minutes walk away if you fancy a change. Nice lounge for the wet days. 100% recommend”

“The accommodation is very clean, free hot drinks while we stayed and staff very nice, it could do with a lick of paint in certain areas. The location is amazing for walking to both Grasmere and Ambleside. We went to the local pub to watch the badgers. The grounds of Rydal Hall are beautiful and include the grot and a waterfall, Would stay again.”

“Beautiful property out of the bustle of nearby Ambleside or Hawkshead. Lovingly cared for and staffed. Gorgeous views, delicious breakfast and dinner, and a hot shower. Hikes out the door. 5 minute walk to Beatrix Potter's home at Hill Top. We hope to return.”

“Lovely room. We booked the dog friendly room and we had dog bowls, and a doggy treat pack including toy, treats & poo bags. Nice little touch! Great food as always, lovely full English breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. Would definitely recommend.”
