“I booked a double room but we were checked into a twin with no availability to move. The room was a good size with plenty of space for clothes. Unfortunately the beds were not that comfortable and there was no shower gel in the dispenser. The bathroom, however was beautifully appointed with a lovely shower and basin. “Sadly, this was a bad experience. I booked via Expedia where the hotel was advertising a Michelin trained chef and a restaurant. I travelled solo 145 miles for a two night break purely because of this. Upon arrival, I was disappointed to learn the restaurant closed last year. I expressed this disappointment in very civil tones, explaining this was the only reason for my visit. I asked the owner Stacie if I could therefore cancel my second night and obtain a partial refund for it. Stacie agreed...
