“Beautiful hotel in areas but if you’re planning to stay here with a baby or you are a wheelchair user I’d maybe think again! This hotel is not accessible at all, it’s quite old so has narrow corridors, lots of heavy doors that are shut between corridors & we were put in a room that had no lift access & was at top of a narrow steep staircase - it was completely impossible to get to with a baby & pram! We had to ask to change rooms and the staff on reception weren’t apologetic or friendly at all!...

“Stayed at this hotel once before but there will not be a third time. Check in staff was not helpful when asked about disabled parking. The car park is a fair walk from the hotel which only has 2 spaces for the whole place which was full. She finally reluctantly let us park out side the building and due to a wedding said she would make a note for other staff to be aware. “The service was lovely. We paid for a water view but didn’t get the benefit due to the scaffolding. The food was reasonably priced for an evening meal and excellent quality more so for gluten free food. There wasn’t much gluten free options for an evening meal or breakfast - no pastries or croissants which is a shame. The leisure facilities are really worn, the changing rooms are weren’t very clean. There was leaks into the swimming pool.”

“Loved this country house hotel. Very charming and close proximity to Chester and its zoo. Only 30 mins away from Manchester Airport so would definitely consider staying here if flying from there. Hotel is set in beautiful grounds. Has its own restaurant but we didn’t eat here as some lovely local places to sample. Staff were very helpful and our room was comfortable and cosy. Would certainly recommend. Breakfast was lovely. Freshly cooked and plentiful”
