“This was our first stop of our trip and Portsmouth is such a cute little New England town. Hotel Thaxer was a perfect palce to stay. Right near downtown and very walkable to local shops, resturants, and emtertainment. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was updated and very comfortable. Highly recommend.”

“We had a wonderful time. The views were spectacular. Room was a nice size and very clean. The only this I advise is if you have trouble climbing stairs please ask for the first floor rooms. Had to carry our heavy luggage up 2 flights of stairs. But the view from the upper floors is great. ”

“The room was just perfect. We had the petite queen and it had everything in it that we could want or need for our two night stay. I had no trouble checking in. If I needed to call and ask a question there was always someone available by phone. The ability to park right opposite was super. The area is so pretty and right on the water.
