“Friendly welcome on arrival . room was relatively small but well equipped and clen. Bed was comfortable. Dinner in the evening was excellent and all bar prices were very reasonable. while there was some ongoing construction in the hotel grounds, there was still the ability to take a short stroll around the grounds. Definitely worthy of a short stay.”

“An excellent place for touring the lakes and the coast, easy to get to. Spoilt being a Sykes site as they go above and beyond to make it perfect with all you need for a memorable holiday. Many thanks for a very clean and comfortable stay, will recommend.”

“It has 4 Start rating but unclear why it’s that high. Checking in, staff member didn’t seem particularly interested. Had to prompt guidance on how to get to my room. Dinner was fine. Nothing spectacular. Breakfast was fine. Rooms are dated, bed was way too soft. Probably old. All just pretty average and not 4 star.”

“Clean, modern and spacious en-suite room, plus a great location to explore the Lake District. There was a little road noise, but this was not an issue. There are 3 parking spaces at the front of the hotel, but, if these are full, street parking is available until 9.30am with a disc to display (There are no restrictions after 6pm or on a Sunday). Free breakfast is provided - There are several options to choose from and all are of high quality. There is also a small bar, which serves evening meals...

“I didnt like the fact that the clocktower restaurant did not exist at all, there was nothing there and the other restaurants opened for only a few hours, room service had a £7.50 room charge on top of food and drink prices ?”

“Much faded since my previous stay about 8 years ago. Id asked for a twin room but was given a double bed. The duvet however, was edge to edge so didn't cover 2 people adequately. The cooked breakfast sausage, mushrooms, hash browns were deep fried. Mushrooms looked like sheep droppings, tiny and black. Evening meal on Friday was better.”
