“What a lovely place to stay. Friendly, accommodating, quiet, comfortable is only the start of the experience. Definitely book for the dinner which is excellent and served in the small but intimate restaurant. Breakfast - really good with locally supplied produce - doesn't get much better. We stayed in the Bothy which was very big and even had a little kitchenette. “Lovely place with beautiful antique furnishings, almost like staying at a National Trust property! The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The hosts are very friendly and cooked us a hot breakfast even though we had a very early start. Highly recommended.”

“Beautiful country hotel, small and personal service, delightful comfortable en-suite rooms, warm inviting pool - often to ourselves, incredible top class gourmet food - formal dining and bar food served in the warm and cosy bar area or the relaxing lounge. So much choice at breakfast, all delicious, everything you could want. Can’t wait to go back in summer to enjoy the open terrace overlooking the pond. A real joy to stay here.”

“The location was perfect, staff friendly helpful and kind warning about the football. We were a little worried but was actually ok, only a little noise when England scored which we cant complain at. Loved our stay, cute locatipn and our evening meal was exactly what we needed.”

“A really comfortable hotel in a lovely village well placed for exploring North Yorkshire. The staff were all excellent, the food was superb and the bed was very comfortable. It’s not super modern as it’s in an old building but this makes it cosy and very comfortable. The outdoor pool is heated so lovely for a dip before breakfast.”
