“This was our first time staying at an independent hotel and we were welcomed by a polite staff member. However, the conditions of the room and amenities of it could’ve been better such as the shower, the floor and walls. The shower was mouldy, the floor was very squeaky for both our room and neighbours making the noise doubled and the walls had no purpose whatsoever as they were so thin , hearing neighbours frequently. Our breakfast on the last morning wasn’t served to us and we got told to go...

“Regrettably our room number 6. Did not smell nice. It had the smell of old wet trainers. We did mention it and a room diffuser was turned on. Some of the fixtures and fitting were falling apart. The shower was head was not appropriate for the size of the shower causing flooding. The staff were lovely and theroom was clean.”

“Lovely traditional Lakes coach inn in great setting close to Bassenthwaite although no view of the lake itself. Service was a bit archaic but I’m putting this down to because it felt like everyone was new? The original historic snug bar is the best feature within but it is clear they are more focused on servicing the relatively new restaurant bar area. Free parking and WiFi. Cooked breakfast was fantastic as was dinner … but … why oh why would you feature Nothumbrian sourced ingredients in the...

El cuarto era muy pequeño y por preservar un estilo, hay cosas desafortunadamente incómodas para el viajero o la vida de hoy. El baño tenía una pileta de pie, cero lugar para apoyar los 2 necessaires de viaje. Las canillas eran de fria por un lado y caliente por el otro. Sin mezcladora. “Idyllic village pub with beautiful scenic views. Would highly recommend this place as there is plenty of walking trails on your doorstep. This place has a lovely traditional pub layout, fantastic food with plenty of choice, all staff super friendly and the rooms were on point. WiFi great throughout the property. Our room rate included breakfast, a lovely adequate selection which included self help items and order of the menu for hot. We will be definitely staying again when visiting the northern...

“Great location if you’re coming and going by train. Ask for a room “not” facing the street - mine did and even with ear plugs the traffic noise was quite loud. (Doesn’t help old school single pane windows which I suppose is common there.) Shower was also weak and stain on duvet cover was, even though small, gross. That said, location, staff and breakfast (included) were great.”
