We had a lovely stay at the Gilpin Inn. Room was clean and equipped with tea,coffee etc. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Nothing was a problem to them. We also enjoyed our food.

A little honey pot, when people get to know about Gilpin, you will not be able to get a room. Wonderful food, very help staff. The only little down point, is there isn’t a cooked breakfast. But, the breakfast which I did have was delicious.

Really friendly and welcoming place to stay and explore the Lake District. Stayed in a small but cosy and very comfortable room. Great food and nice pub/bar downstairs. Plenty of parking on site.

Unfortunately the carpark spaces are very small for today's size cars. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Standard room was small but very good value for money. Location perfect for gateways to lakes or for a stop off to Scotland

A great location to stop after a long drive. Very convenient. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was spotless with lovely locally sourced products. Whilst we didn't eat dinner here it was busy and there us a children's play area too. We ate at the Hare & Hounds; a very pleasant 20 minute walk away. There is plenty of car parking spaces at the Gilpin. The breakfast is very basic. We would definitely stay again but not opt for the breakfast.

We stayed for 2 nights in a very small double standard room. No storage space,just a bar about a metre long to hang a couple of items on and small bedside drawers .There was a complimentary breakfast provided and tea making facilities but only a tiny stool so breakfast had to be eaten sitting on the bed. All that being said the room was clean and the bed . In the shower room there is a small towel rail but only big enough for hand towels,we had to drape the wet bath towels over the shower door. No shelf over the basin and no glasses supplied for cleaning your teeth. We had dinner here on both nights and the food was good,especially the home made lasagne which was a generous size and very tasty. The staff were OK and the place was quite busy which is good to see. Lovely play area for children and easy parking . I'm not used to booking short stays but if I have to do so in future I shall ask more questions. We weren't travelling light as this stay was only a part of our trip and the accommodation here felt cramped.

From arrival to leaving nothing was too much trouble. I was on my own and the staff were more than helpful as to where to visit . The food was varied and excellent. Breakfast was basic continental but didn’t want any more. I make what I consider sensible comments not criticism and mentioned these to them. 1 possibly a small fridge in the room in view of current conditions but found out I was lucky and had a larger room so this wasn’t feasible throughout. I tray in shower to hold bits would be helpful. I mentioned. Non slip shower mat but was informed that they were available but no one asked. All in all an excellent 3 nights and I would go again. After I lose weight from the food!
