“The breakfast was, I’d say, better than in a Hotel Ibis. The food was, definitely, locally sourced. We reached Bruton and the Hauser & Wirth arts complex easily from this hotel. We also visited the Jurassic Coast, but that took us a whole day, and we returned by 10pm.”

“Lovely place to stay off the beaten path… The only issue was that the hot water supply never reached what one might call hot… but on an incredibly warm weekend that wasn’t a problem and didn’t detract from our stay… A lovely quiet place to stay, breakfast was lovely and we enjoyed the evening restaurant menu. The beer was excellent. Thankyou for an enjoyable stay.”

“We stayed for 2 nights in the family room which had a lovely comfortable king size bed, ensuite with large walk in shower and air con which was a God send. Very clean and quiet. The staff are lovely, food and drinks reasonably priced, breakfast choices good. The beer garden needs some attention but is secure if you have children or a dog. Steep stairs to the rooms which were a bit difficult with our elderly dog but over all a great stay. Please note, although very dog friendly they do charge...

“Lovely comfortable stay. Charming and vibrant village pub with good selection of beers and a good meal. Room was clean and comfortable. Only downside was it was quite hot at night time and the window didnt open much. A fan was provided in the room so Im guessing this is a regular thing. Would definitely recommend though.”

“We had a room on the front, no air, room not aired, constant road noise all through the night. Mattress stained, carpet stained. Tables sticky in the restaurant - avoided breakfast.”

“Absolutely fabulous stay - the staff were all amazing, the food for dinner and breakfast great, the beer garden was the most beautifully manicured beer garden i have ever been to. Bed and pillows also very comfortable. The photos dont do this place justice - its a proper gem :)”

“I was very happy with my stay. I just feel they need to put a stronger fan in the room, as the rooms are upstairs and has a skylight window, which can't be opened and so the room gets extremely hot in there. The fan they have is not strong enough to keep the room cool, especially on extremely hot days. Otherwise the staff were excellent and the food is simply amazing.”
