Very convenient for a nights stay. Despite being in a pub it was very quiet. Lovely clean, soft towels and clean sheets . Staff were friendly , easy for dinner and breakfast

The pub itself and the breakfast were great but the room i had smelled damp and needed some love! The bed was very old with person shape dents in the mattress The owner came out immediately to fix a light but as he couldn't reassure me that the other rooms were any better I left after one night of no sleep.

The village is delightful and has a fascinating history well worth the visit. The hotel is full of character but is in need of a good deal of work if it is going to cater for tourists otherwise it will fall into disrepair and not be worth considering. Carpets need replacing, rooms need a thorough cleaning, woodwork, like doors and windows, are in need of attention & holes in the walls should be addressed. The lovely lady serving breakfast was welcoming and friendly and breakfast provided a great start to the day. We also had dinner there one night and the servings were generous. I understand that with old buildings it costs a lot to maintain but if left as it is I would not be returning to stay.
