“While the cottage was in a lovely location and it was great seeing the old trains going past occasionally, we were actually a little disappointed with it otherwise. The cottage was quite grubby in places, especially the kitchen extractor fan which had dirt and grease dripping from it. There was also a lot of cobwebs scattered about. “The views are excellent- Staff very welcoming and friendly. Rooms very comfortable but warning of some sloping ceilings! Amenities very good - good value for money. Breakfast very good. Good choice menu in the evening but disappointed that apple and blackberry pie not available for 4 nights of our stay! Dog friendly - which is great for dog owners but personally - I wasnt so happy re a couple with 2 big dogs being allowed into the dining room in the evening.”

“It is an old Hotel but it is well maintained The staff are young and on top of their job and very polite and helpful The restaurant is well decorated and comfortable as is the bar and lounge The food is very well prepared and tasty Our room was well looked after by the staff as we were there for 3 nights All in All no complaints at all”

“The room was terrible with a smashed bathroom basin, so I asked for another room. The 2nd room had a smelly damp, mouldy bathroom. There were no common areas. The bar/restaurant areas were kept closed/locked. Reception staff were not at the hotel full time. Only sporadically during the day.”
