“Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Sort walk to the local village for the train station , cafe and pub ”

“Room was tired and bed uncomfortable. Car park had no lighting which made it difficult to navigate in the dark.”

The bed was also comfortable, which made for a good night’s sleep. However, the cleanliness of the room was disappointing, particularly the carpet, which was covered in stains. “The Duke of Edinburgh hotel was a gem. I don’t know the history of the building but it’s older; that doesn't mean bad. They have done a great job of renovating the rooms, or at least ours was. It was one of the best rooms we’ve had on our trip. We also had dinner and a breakfast while there and the food at the restaurant/pub was excellent. It’s a short walk from the train station and I would recommend it for your stay.”

“Very clean and tidy place with friendly staff.”

“Strange entrance to our room as had to hold the fire door open and room door to get the cases in. Room was clean as was bathroom although bath panel very scruffy. Due to the style of sink turning the tap on causes a tidal wave and wets you through so have to use cautiously! Had to pay for parking as didn’t book directly with hotel.”

“I enjoyed my stay, the staff were really friendly and helpful, the room was large and comfortable and breakfast was good. The location is stunning, right on the lake near the ferry pier. I’d recommend staying here as a great base to explore the area”
