“Stay few times before, currently undergoing maintenance so has scaffolding up. Doesn't affect windows or noise. Parking included great dog friendly great town centre. Shame no more breakfast but didn't really affect stay. Will be back”

Definitely book for the dinner which is excellent and served in the small but intimate restaurant. Breakfast - really good with locally supplied produce - doesn't get much better. We stayed in the Bothy which was very big and even had a little kitchenette. “Excellent location for both forest and local villages and towns. Quiet location, all meals very good, breakfast you couldn’t ask for more options. Staff excellent , efficient, yet couldn’t do more. Beers from Cropton brewery excellent and good choices. Some of building from 400 years very quirky rooms on multiple levels, confusing at first but yousoon become accustomed.”
