“The gruff owner needs to realise that she is in the hospitality business, not doing you a favour by allowing you to stay at her hotel. I stayed there for 8 nights and had the following inconveniences: Breakfast was not provided the first day, even though I had paid for it (“I’m not starting to do breakfasts again until tomorrow”); my room was not cleaned on Sunday (“the chambermaid doesn’t work on Sundays”); the first time I used the shower all kinds of black bits of dirt and fungus came out of...

“The staff are very helpful and friendly. The food and beer is good and great value. Parking is a bit tight, so arrive early if you are checking in! If you want to eat, make sure you reserve a table. We found out the hard way on Saturday lunchtime that you can't always get a meal, even if you are a resident. Other than that, it's a good place to stay. It's quiet at night due to the location and the fact that the bar isn't open until late.”

“The single room above a quiet pub has the best price you will find in the area, and an interesting history. Nice meals are available downstairs, very convenient. The Sunday lunch (I had the roast chicken with all the trimmings) was especially delicious. The friendly owners shared lots of information about the local area.
