Amazing experience: exactly what we needed in Tulum
We moved to Delek Tulum after having a disappointing experience at Azulik, and the difference was incredible. From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming, friendly, and genuinely helpful. They made our group feel comfortable and immediately turned our trip around.
The property was clean, well maintained, and everything worked exactly as it should. The A/C kept the rooms comfortable, the Wi-Fi worked perfectly, the amenities were clean and fully functional, and having a beautiful pool to enjoy was a huge plus.
What stood out the most, however, was the staff and the service. Everyone we interacted with was attentive, kind, and happy to help. The atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming, which is exactly what you want when vacationing in Tulum.
After moving hotels, we were finally able to relax and enjoy the rest of our vacation. Our entire group of six was very happy with the decision to stay at Delek.
We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Delek Tulum to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, welcoming place with excellent service. Thank you to the entire Delek team for turning our trip around!

I really liked this hotel and the comfort it provides is unmatched. Every one of the staff members is really attentive and nice. The only reason I’m giving it 4 starts instead of 5 is the food. Out of all the restaurants around this hotel, just one met my expectations.

We stayed in August 2024 for my birthday. This was our 5th or 6th trip and unfortunately we will probably not return. Resort has stopped focusing on couples and has starting promoting large groups to book rooms. The resort isn't set up for this. Dining is delayed, staff is stressed (not enough of them to serve large groups plus other guests), more buffets than before, loud groups partying until late into the night/morning takes away from the chill, relaxing, quiet vibe the resort used to have. Staff and taxi drivers indicate the new manager (might not still be there 1.5 years later, maybe so) was running the resort into the ground for personal profit. We came here for our honeymoon in 2016 and loved it and went back several times. The last trip was so bad and noisy we were ready to leave early since the other people in our building thought nothing of blaring their music and talking on the phone until 3 and 4am in the common areas between rooms. The way the buildings are set up in this resort you walk into a common area and all the rooms in the building come off the common area. The problem is the rooms are very insulated between the rooms but not around the doors. Also because of the large open ceilings, stuff in the common areas echo. As the group was very large (probably 30 plus adults), our concerns were pretty much dismissed since they had rented out about 1/3 of the resort. The wait staff and kitchen staff and bar staff did the best they could.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Hotel Riu Palace Peninsula in Cancun. This was my second time choosing this hotel, and unfortunately, after this experience, I do not plan to return.
The worst experience happened at the Steakhouse restaurant. When we arrived, the person responsible for seating told us that we had to wait approximately 20 minutes. Shortly afterward, another family with a child arrived and was told that a table was available, while we were still asked to wait. We were also traveling with a child, so watching another family being accommodated while we continued to wait made us feel that we were being treated unfairly and disrespectfully.
Unfortunately, the situation became even worse once we were finally seated. We waited around 40 minutes and no one came to take our order. We even asked for a high chair for our child, and it was not brought to us. The attitude and lack of service were so noticeable that we felt as though the staff had been instructed to ignore us after the issue at the entrance. Whether that was actually the case or not, no guest should ever be made to feel this way at a resort of this size and reputation.
When we finally ordered our steaks, we requested them well done. One arrived properly cooked, while the other was still very undercooked. In total, we spent approximately TWO HOURS just trying to have dinner. What should have been an enjoyable family dinner became an unnecessarily frustrating and disrespectful experience.

Wow! Easily the best resort we have stayed at.
I am not Vegan but the best part of this trip was definitely the food. The all-inclusive is the best deal around by far. There are plenty of non-vegan options but honestly I mostly ate the vegan versions. Everything was top-shelf. Charlies Vegan Tacos were a highlight. And we actually lost some weight while we were there since its so healthy.
The service was incredible. Everywhere we went we were greeted with smiles and hellos. We got to know by name many of the staff.
The Pools are about the best I have seen and the beach (when there is not seaweed) is incredible. And they keep it cleaner than any other beach around.
Every time we ventured out to try something different we came back to the hotel because it was just better.
The free classes like Yoga were amazing as well.
I feel this is a secret that will soon be out.
But thank you to all the staff who were part of this experience.

I really wanted to love this place, and while we made the most of our honeymoon, it unfortunately was not as advertised and did not feel like a 5-star experience.
The positives: everything was very clean, and at only 30% capacity, we practically had the Fuentes pool to ourselves. The à la carte food was good, and several staff members were exceptional—shoutout to Felix, Victor, Luis, and Sami! The excursion to Maroma Beach Club was truly the highlight of our trip and is highly recommended.
Unfortunately, the service and follow-through were major disappointments. We requested an upgrade for our honeymoon, but our shower water was very cold for two days—the pools were actually warmer.
We also agreed to a sales presentation in exchange for a couples massage, expecting about an hour. Instead, it lasted nearly three hours. When we tried to leave, we were sent to restaurants that were closed, leaving us without food until the afternoon. We reported this to multiple managers and were repeatedly told someone would follow up, but no one did.
Even simple requests, like towels, were not followed through on. With the resort only at 30% capacity, the lack of communication and accountability was especially frustrating.
Another thing that baffled us was being told that Spanish music could not be played because the general manager did not allow it. Being in Mexico, we found that incredibly strange.
the poor service and lack of follow-through overshadowed the positives. I would not recommend
