“The property looked fantastic on the website and the reception area is impressive. I was a last minute booking and turned up later in the evening, I can only assume that a staff member thought it was going to be empty for the evening and decided to use it as their personal toilet. The toilet bowl was covered in skid marks. Unfortunately I did not use the toilet until middle of the night, so by the time I saw the disgusting state of the toilet, it was too late to request to move rooms. I...

“Lifts weren’t working and the room was tiny with a sloping roof - not good for the money paid! The bathroom was also small with the mirror on the sloping roof! Useless! Grand impressive hotel but probably wouldn’t return Disappointed Receptionist was very helpful”

“The room was very clean and well appointed. The only drawback was that there was no lounge for seating. If you didn’t want to sit in your room, which was small but adequate, you had to go to the restaurant. This was not ideal for travellers spending several days there. The restaurant and staff were very good. The food delicious and well prepared. Parking was fine, there was plenty for residents. I must give a shout out to the staff we encountered at the Ely. “A wonderful hotel with serene green spaces in a royal atmosphere. I had to work overnight and the gentleman at night desk went above and beyond to help me with an additional TV screen and a place to work at. Simply unbelievably helpful and way beyond my expectations. My wife and kid had a great time in the gardens. I highly recommend this place if you´re out to get some relaxation.”
