“The family room was very nice, however the room would be better for 2 adults and 2 children as the sofa, which turned into a bed, was too narrow and short for 2 people. The bedroom doesnt have any access to any windows as there was a double door balcony which was unable to open due to safety, but it was very hot. However the staff were very nice and gave us an extra fan. The parking was good and close on the premises but had it be paid for.”

“Lovely hotel with character. Breakfast was calm and quiet - just what was needed and filled us up for the day! Staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean. The lift was very small and made strange noises so not for those who don’t like them! Furniture/ air con etc in rooms does need updating but considering the heat we had an excellent night’s sleep”

“Pretty poor - hotel from the outside looks old & tired, not going to win any architectural prizes let’s say. Good points - room air con was decent and plenty of free parking spaces which while it’s a bit out of the city centre is still decent for York. Bad points - holes in the bed linen, tiny bathroom & big hole in the tiles behind the shower tap & also carpet was quite heavily stained. Disappointing & wasn’t a pleasant place to be - wouldn’t stay again. On check-out Staff were good to be fair...
