“What an incredible stay for us. First time to a ryokan (i.e., traditional Japanese inn w/ onsen). What an experience! Hotel is somewhat confusing to navigate, but that is part of the adventure. The public onsen was incredible (note: they swap the male and female sides, so pay ATTENTION!). The room we stayed in was "traditional" in that we had five futons atop tatami. Haven't selpt that well in a long time! The in-room onsen was a bit old school (basically a deep tub), but still oh so magical....

“I know my husband plans to write a longer review but until that happens, just know that this lovely little gem is exactly that. The staff went above and beyond to meet our every need. The villa was beautiful as was our outdoor onsen which I wish I could have taken with me. The real stand out for us was the staff, their kindness and the quality of the food. We were truly blown away and agreed that we had some of our finest meals here. On second thought I wish I could bring Chef home with me....

“We stayed in a room with a private onsen, which was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. We also got lucky with a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji from our room! The room itself was spacious, comfortable, and had a charming traditional Japanese feel that we really enjoyed. It had a beautiful old-Japan atmosphere while still being comfortable.
