The hotel is in a great location and overall had great vibes. Located right next to the city market, many restaurants, a quick walk to the waterfront, Pineapple fountain, King street and the Battery. The front desk and valet were polite. The room itself looked great and we loved the room and living room separation. The room was dark and moody with old school vibes which we thought was fun. They were a little small but we didn’t mind it added to the charm. Our issues were mainly with the comfort of the room. The bed was hard and not comfortable. The pillows amazing but the bed itself my back hurt after two days and we both didn’t get great sleep. The room was always hot. We could not get the ac to go below 72. We called and they said it was motion censored so it would go down when we left and slept. It never got cool. They offered a fan but that barely helped.

The location was great! We had river/creek view and it was beautiful and fun watching ships go in and out. We sat on or balcony and enjoyed listening to music from the restaurants around. The pool very well kept. There were many restaurants to walk to and hotel connected to long boardwalk. The parking under the hotel was great at the beginning of week, but Thursday and Friday all the spots in shade were taken. The main disappointment was the breakfast. They did advertise as pick up and go which it was, basic cereal bowls, cheap muffins and pastries, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, yucky fruit cocktail- no other fruit choices Coffee was fine- kuerig coffee. It was clean area, just after 3 days of that wanted real breakfast!

Breakfast was better than any self service I have been to in my 76 years . Breakfast was also better than so many restaurants . Personnel and amenities were above average .

The place was beautiful from being newly renovated. The only thing I would say is that I had dust bunnies under the little ottoman in when room when I moved it. Also the roof top taproom was under renovations so it was as enjoyable as they showed pictured. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would go back again. I do also love that they provide you with a black make up towel instead of white like most hotels. I appreciate that so much. It is right at the end of king street and is in walking distance from a lot of places.
