We enjoyed our long weekend at Shem Creek Inn. It’s a great location with so many wonderful restaurants and boardwalks to navigate the area! Can’t wait to go back!

Peeling wall paper, insects in bathroom, vanity very worn just needs major renovating

The Palmetto was absolutely perfect. First impression walking in is a gorgeous, inviting sitting room and a beautiful bar around the corner at the entrance, and then very lovely staff welcoming at check in. The room and (large) bathroom were clean and also beautiful. I love that a steamer was in the closet, which came in handy. Nice mini bar, though we didn’t use it. Very comfortable bed and lovely linen. Excellent pastries at breakfast as well as fruit, grits, hard boiled eggs, and excellent coffee. The hotel’s location was absolutely perfect to see the historic city and the coastline and to wonderful restaurants. All the staff we encountered were lovely. Family met us from Florida for the weekend and stayed there also for the 3 day weekend and loved the hotel as much as we did, and it was a feather in my cap that I found it!
