Vacations Close To Stockley Park

Nice airy lobby, kind staff and cool artwork on the first floor stairwell. It is incredibly close to Paddington Station, which is a great thing for getting around the city and a not so good thing in that you can feel the underground trains vibrating the building. There is no A/C in the rooms and you need to be comfortable with stairs all the way up to the 4th floor to use the shared bathroom. If it wasn't so hot in the city I probably wouldn't have had an issue with this next item, but for the bedding, there was only a fitted sheet and the duvet, no flat sheet. I like to have the option of all 3, especially when it is so hot with no A/C it's nice to just sleep with the fitted sheet and kick off the duvet.

We absolutely loved staying at this little gem of a hotel. It's just a few steps from Earl's Court station, but somehow feels incredibly calm and tucked away from the bustle of London. The beautiful back garden was one of our favorite spots. If we hadn't been out exploring the city every day, we would have happily spent hours there reading and relaxing. The restaurant was excellent, and the bar served some wonderfully eclectic cocktails. We loved all of the staff, who were warm and welcoming throughout our stay. A special mention to the charming Lithuanian maître d' in the restaurant, who made every visit a pleasure, and to the talented bartenders. Our beautiful room with a view of the quiet street was definitely on the compact side, and we could hear the guest upstairs who seemed to enjoy stomping around. That's probably part of the charm (and quirks) of an older building, and perhaps a few thicker carpets would help. But honestly, it was a very minor issue in what was otherwise an amazing stay. We will be back to this magical place.

Rooms are nice, good location, service is ok, not a great bargain, to put it kindly, pay a lot for a mid range hotel. No complains, just can get a lot better for that amount
