“While there is nothing wrong with this hotel if you just want to sleep there, if you want food or drink find somewhere else. On Friday night they closed the bar at least half an hour early so we couldn’t get a drink, on Sunday they were short staffed so stopped serving food at 7pm so we had to eat crisps and nuts! The hotel is a long way from anywhere to nip and get food and drink, so please make sure you are suitably refreshed before coming back.”

“The Blue Lion is ideally situated for a stop over when making a long journey to Cornwall. The room was well equipped and comfortable. There is some traffic noise from the road, but that did not spoil our one night stay. The staff were welcoming and the locals were friendly. The evening meal was excellent. Our little pooch was also made to feel incredibly welcome and even served with her own little platter of treats. “What a beautiful day this was. The views from the Inn are stunning. I was welcomed by Kevin (the owner) on arrival. I enjoyed a fabulous home-cooked styled curry for dinner (a must have if you are there for curry night). The rooms are clean and nicely set up. Both Kevin and Suzanne are superb hosts. Looking for a great place to stay this is it. I look forward to my return.”
