“Ample parking, lovely looking hotel. Our room was a bit on the small side,the area to access the sink was incredibly tight. My husband had to be at an angle making shaving impossible. Thankfully it was fine for one night but anymore could have been problematic.”

“I was really looking forward to my stay at The Candlesticks. However as soon as I entered, I began to have my doubts. The bar area, where the owner received us, looked particularly shabby and it smelt musty. It was 3pm (an hour after checking-in should have started) and the room wasn't ready. It wasn't such a big deal, but it was another warning sign. I was in a single room, which made a certain saying about a cat spring to mind. “Lovely property part of a lovely pub and restaurant. Breakfast was amazing, hot and tasty. Lots of choice for breakfast. ”

“The staff were welcoming, very helpful & friendly. Our room was clean, comfortable and looked like it had recently been refurbished. We had everything we needed & even some shortbread with our tea tray, a lovely extra touch! We ate in the bar & again both the food & service were excellent. I cannot rate our stay highly enough & we are looking forward to returning next year & using it as our base for Burghley Horse Trials. Thank you 😊”

“I had a little trouble finding the car park but the receptionist was brilliant in helping me out and giving me a pre-printed map and an accurate post code for my SatNav. Check-in was seamless. Food was excellent. Wonderful ambience in the bar. Comfy room.”

All positive, only negative would be poor wifi connection booster required i would suggest . Nevertheless great stay for business travelling”
