“Elm tree cottage was the best stay I’ve had in Yorkshire , I visit often and by far the best place I’ve stayed the hosts were lovely and kind and was great to chat too! The location was perfect in a cute little village on a farm close to Thirsk and an easy drive to York. Providing the essentials for cooking and a cozy little cottage too! Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning in the future! ”

“Lovely place to stay. Was just the two of us. We would say 2nd bedroom is suitable for children rather than infants or adults, due to steep stairs, and layout of the room. Teenagers would love it I'd imagine. Only thing that let it down slightly was the small seating area outside. Just needs a little TLC. A quick sweep out would have helped. Other than that Masham and this property well worth visit, if maybe slightly over priced.”

“We rather liked Kemps Yard, which must be fairly new to the listing. Very convenient for Thirsk town, quietly hidden away from the main road, and clean and cosy. Parking in the yard is almost impossible, although the neighbour is an expert at manoeuvring his pickup down the lane! The visitor's permit lets you park on the road and saves you from endangering your vehicle, but you may get your step count up while you unload. We were ok with the cobbled lane, but it wouldn't be so good for those...

“Nearest shops are in Bedale but there is fantastic pub in the village, the landlord is a great bloke as are the folk from the village was made to feel very welcome ”
