“Lovely setting, great welcome, food superb, staff friendly and helpful We had the suite (kingfisher) which was an excellent room except for a radiator being stuck on in the bathroom. The lady in charge (lovely lass) managed to get it sorted as the outside temp was up in the 30’s!!! “It is a well-located and welcoming hotel, with so many imperfections that it feels perfect! You really feel as though you are being welcomed into an old home. The interior is beautiful and the old lift is an attraction in itself. The hotel has been renovated at some point, yet it still feels wonderfully authentic. The staff made it a memorable experience. “I have just stayed at The Fighting Cocks for the weekend. Unfortunately we choose the weekend of the A31 closure and the New Forest fires! Resulting in a lot of traffic passing the pub. Not their fault. The staff were very helpful and friendly the room was great, clean and comfortable and breakfast was included and really tasty. We had an evening meal on the Saturday which was ample and reasonably priced. All in all a great little stop over.”
