“AVOID THIS HOTEL — unless you’re looking for a hotel full of dogs! My partner and I stayed here for two nights for a business trip and unfortunately had a terrible experience. Our room was not clean at all. There was dog hair, marks and stains on the carpet, dirty facilities, a water jug that hadn’t been cleaned properly, a kettle full of limescale and marks on the bedding. “From the outside the property had old style appeal and parking which was a positive however when taken to our room this was at the back of the property and you had to pass washing hanging online, a laundry shed and general toot and tat. The entrance to the stairway to the room went past the back of the kitchen where the door was permanently open so you heard all the usual professional kitchen noises.. “It was nice to stay in an older building in the area to feel the historic charm, but the slanted hallways, stairs and uneven floor boards in the room took away from the charm and instead signaled a lack of investment. We spent most of our time outside the hotel so I can't really comment on the amenities.”
