Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhone Vacations

The desk staff at check could have been more welcoming. Didn't explain not one thing of the hotel. It was our first time in Europe, I had to come back down to learn how to turn on light in room. They gave me the pool towel cards. But never told me where to return pool towels. Upon check out they asked me for the towels that I had already turned in to the floor house keeper. They explained the restaurant hours or breakfast. The room TV didn't have the ability to change language to English.

I read the good reviews and thought this would be fine. Location is good, super central etc. what they don’t tell you is: you don’t stay in the main hotel building. It’s like a few buildings on the same street, so you’re not in the same one as reception or the cafe etc. that means you have no extra space. In terms of the room, You get what you pay for. Simple room, zero amenities (one body soap, nothing else). Room is tiny, could not open my suitcase and move around it. When I arrived at 7 pm, I asked if another room is possible and the staff (who also seemed to not be fluent in English) told me no. So maybe I had the worst room. However I would say overall staff was not great. Room was fine if you plan to spend zero time in it. I would not stay here again and I think money better spent elsewhere.

A fantastic hotel - air conditioned throughout which was a relief. The rooms were spotless and the view of the bay was magnificent. Beautifully decorated really comfortable with a central position in the busy Vieux-Port district. I would definitely return to this hotel if travelling to Marseille again.
