firstly, I want to say that the staff here are kind, generous, welcoming and polite. what I'm about to say is no reflection on them whatsoever. this place is in rough shape, it's old, it's in dire need of repair and updating. that stuff on its own doesn't bother me much. let's start with the price. I just wanted to get laid on a Sunday night, and I couldn't leave my dog alone at home. so I snagged a last minute two-bed room on the first floor. the pet deposit was waived, which is incredibly kind. I paid a total of $83. I would be stupid to complain about that price. the place was clean, clean towels clean desk, clean tables, everything was perfect.... however... the Wi-Fi wasn't on, there were no drinks in the soda machine. there is a funky mildewy smell to the room, you know the kind like grandma's basement on a humid day. it was relentless, distracting. I guess I was really frustrated with the lack of wi-fi, and damn it my brother gets thirsty when he's tapping ass, there should be drinks. when I rate this, I'm giving it a rating relative to other places that I've been in the area. with wi-fi, it could be an ideal cheap date type of place, or if you're in a domestic violence situation, and you need a quick place to go while you're hiding from the cops or your husband. anyway, the step is fantastic I can't say that enough.

Overall, the staff was friendly, and the room was clean, which I appreciated. However, there were several issues that made the stay feel disappointing, especially considering the price. A few of the room amenities were not functioning properly. The filtered water dispenser did not work, and the blackout shades were terrible , causing us to wake up at sunrise each morning. While these may seem like minor inconveniences individually, together they detracted from the overall experience. Given the hotel’s reputation and high ratings, I expected more. In my opinion, the accommodations did not justify the premium price, and I left feeling that I had overpaid for what was offered. The most concerning part of my stay occurred at checkout. Before leaving, I asked a staff member if she could watch my belongings for about ten minutes while I found a restroom, as there are no public restrooms available. She kindly agreed, but when I returned, she had left the area and my belongings were unattended. Fortunately, nothing was taken, but anyone could have walked away with my luggage. That experience was both frustrating and unsettling, and it left a disappointing final impression of an otherwise pleasant stay.

Really nice room and location

Docent is a low touch hotel that has very clean, great spaces. The staff is incredible and helpful.

The road to the hotel was under construction each night, preventing us from getting to the hotel and the staff never once mentioned it or acknowledged it being an issue that we would need to account for. Also the hotel doesn’t serve breakfast on Mondays or Tuesdays which is just weird! The breakfast was also very mid so just keep that in mind. Elevator is loud at night and can be heard through the walls if you are within two rooms of it.

The accommodations were perfect for a family of 4. The 2 bedroom/2 bath was very spacious, very well laid out and in an excellent location. We really enjoyed our stay!

My girlfriends and I had a wonderful time on our "glampling" adventure! The island host was amazing and made our stay the best! Looking forward to returning someday and highly recommend it! Thank you from the Lobster ladies!!!😉
