“Much faded since my previous stay about 8 years ago. Id asked for a twin room but was given a double bed. The duvet however, was edge to edge so didn't cover 2 people adequately. The cooked breakfast sausage, mushrooms, hash browns were deep fried. Mushrooms looked like sheep droppings, tiny and black. Evening meal on Friday was better.”

“It has 4 Start rating but unclear why it’s that high. Checking in, staff member didn’t seem particularly interested. Had to prompt guidance on how to get to my room. Dinner was fine. Nothing spectacular. Breakfast was fine. Rooms are dated, bed was way too soft. Probably old. All just pretty average and not 4 star.”

“Room was very large & clean. However, the double bed was 2 singles pushed together. Additionally , there was a wheel missing from one corner, which made the bed lopsided, with the mattress overhanging the side. Not at all conducive to a great nights sleep! As the reception is unmanned most of the day we couldn’t even report it! Check in experience left much to be desired. The member of staff who checked us in was also working as a bar tender. “Friendly welcome on arrival . room was relatively small but well equipped and clen. Bed was comfortable. Dinner in the evening was excellent and all bar prices were very reasonable. while there was some ongoing construction in the hotel grounds, there was still the ability to take a short stroll around the grounds. Definitely worthy of a short stay.”
