“Absolutely great place to stay if you're in Ilfracombe. Backs onto the very pretty harbour area, really good value breakfast and the pub is friendly, great beers but not noisy at all. Our room got a little warm and the mgt instantly upgraded us to a two-room suite opposite and the general service and friendliness of the team who manage the Royal Britannia would be a major reason for going back as well as the beautiful spots immediately around the hotel. Great job and thank you Royal Britannia...

“Great location and room was perfect. Smart TV a nice touch. Contrary to what Hotel.com say, the hotel doesn't have parking so you need to park in the 24 hour car park a street away. Check in was confusing as you had to go to a different hotel across the road but it was fine. You also have to go there for breakfast.”

“Zentral gelegene Unterkunft mit sehr gutem Frühstück. Unser Zimmer lag im zweiten Stock mit etwas Aussicht auf den Hafen. Badewanne im Zimmer ist vielleicht cool, aber nicht sehr praktisch. Ansonsten aber alles sehr bequem und geräumig.”

“Staff were really great. I stayed here for business so I needed to do more work in my room, the staff were happy for me to take my dinner up into my room and the rump steak that I had was incredibly good. I was also up and out in the morning too early for breakfast so the staff made me a packed lunch which was really nice of them. ”

“I stood at this family guesthouse for four nights when travelling on business in the area during May-June. The rooms are all upstairs, tidy neat, well-lighted and nicely decorated. You enter by their restaurant which, by the way, has very tasty seafood platters every day made by chef Steve, who also prepares an excellent English breakfast every morning. “Stephen was a wonderful host showing us our room on arrival and explaining arrangements there. Room 3 was extremely well appointed with our own entrance and outdoor space. The small kitchen area included a microwave great for a cosy meal in. The continental breakfast was amazing and really set you up for the day. Set in quiet countryside outside Bideford with easy access to local attractions and exploring the countryside. A really relaxing break for us and would definitely recommend staying...
