“The rooms were good. Liked the dog bed and treats waiting for the pups. The cleanliness of the room was great, the furniture in the bar was a bit stained but as most of the people were dog lovers or hikers so we didn’t really see the problem as we are all covered in one thing or another!! “My wife and I stayed for three nights at Bartles Lodge in August 2026. We were warmly welcomed by proprieters upon arrival. The premises were clean and comfortable, we opted for a continental breakfast and the selection offered was excellent. We ate two evening meals which were hot and tasty and well presented. “This was such a great stay. Really cute pub with amazing food and such a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. Everyone we interacted with was keen to know if we were happy and seemed genuinely pleased when we said we were.
