“Lovely little place”

“I arrived after 5pm and had not realised Sykes cottages were dealing with the property. It took me two hours to get in because of email issues and also no one to get hold of after hours from Sykes. This needs looking into. The property itself was well worth the hassle I had been through and I will definitely go back for a second visit. It was clean and very quiet. Only issue was recycling I didn’t know what went where. Maybe a sheet telling you what to do. But apart from this would recommend.”

“This was an excellent place to stay, with historic ironworks in front, whitewater in behind, and a real steam-engine train passing by that looked like something out of a story book. There are two flights of 17 steps each, for a total of 34 steps to get to the flat, and then 14 more inside the cottage to get to the bedroom. “Lovely quiet location on the edge of Cartmel with good road connections to the tourist areas of the Lakes. The place was spotless and well equipped but they really do only include bedding, towels and loo roll. Whatever else you need make sure you take it with you. It lacked hanging space for clothes in the bedroom and any place to put your cases. We were surprised it was a semi detached building, we could hear a lot of noise, especially doors closing in the attached unit. I would still recommend...
