Vacations Close To HK Hall

The lobby is lovely, and of course we love Serendipity! For my stay, the Luggage Guy was THE BEST! We were so grateful for the 2;h bag check, as we arrived in NYC at 6am and couldn’t check in until 3pm. The front desk lines were frequently long and slow-moving, and when we were checking in around 4pm they told us there was no hot water, so they’d remove the facility fee if we wanted to stay, though when we went upstairs to our room the hot water was working fine and we didn’t have any trouble with it after 3 showers. I let the front desk know around 8pm that our water worked fine, and they were shocked. So like… whoever is in charge over here is not doing a very good job. I kept coming downstairs to check if the only ice machine was working yet - it said “refilling ice” every time I checked until I gave up at 11pm. It still wasn’t working when we checked out the next day either, and no one at the front desk had any idea how long it would take or how to fix it or even where to buy ice in the area. Our room wouldn’t get cold, so we called down and they said they’d send “the engineer” up but they never showed up. Also the carpet was wet near the bathroom and seemed soapy, but WAY too wet to be from any normal cleaning. The rooms were very quiet though! I didn’t hear anything from adjacent rooms - it seemed like no one was in there, so either that’s true or this hotel actually has decent walls. TBD. The hotel is very well situated, and we got great service (shoutout to Manuel at reception!). The public areas and the room were all very clean and well maintained. The room doors slam very loudly, and so when other guests leave or arrive early morning or late at night we hear doors slamming. It would be accommodating if complimentary water bottles were replenished daily and not just upon arrival. We would stay there again!

Location was great. Place was clean and secure. Hardwood floors. No microwave and the place was very small.

The only reason I’m giving this hotel the rating I did is because of its great location and friendly staff. The hotel itself was clean overall, but it is very outdated and in need of some serious updates. The elevator situation was one of the biggest issues during our stay. We were on the 26th floor and had to take the stairs twice during our three-day stay because of the elevator issues. After already spending the day walking all over NYC, climbing 26 flights of stairs was extremely frustrating. The bathroom was another disappointment. There was mold buildup all around the shower area, which really needs to be addressed. Overall, the location was excellent and the staff was pleasant, but the outdated rooms, elevator problems, and mold in the bathroom made the stay less enjoyable than expected.

I had a great weekend in NYC. Row NYC was a big reason for this. The hotel is located in a great location. My room was clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I hope to return one day in the future.

The location was amazing so close to Times Square and broadway shows. You could walk to Madison square garden and the Empire State building. Comfortable beds and clean. Rooms could use an update but would stay there again.
