“The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen. “Clean and cosy”

“Loved the old 17th century beams in the rooms and the uneven floors. Property was very quiet - even with the Football World Cup semi-final on while we were there. Staff were all incredibly helpful and loved the breakfast. 100% recommend and would love to take my dog next time as they are very dog friendly (they get a sausage at breakfast!).”

“The accommodation is very clean, free hot drinks while we stayed and staff very nice, it could do with a lick of paint in certain areas. The location is amazing for walking to both Grasmere and Ambleside. We went to the local pub to watch the badgers. The grounds of Rydal Hall are beautiful and include the grot and a waterfall, Would stay again.”
