“My sister and I spent just a couple of nights here and truly fell in love with the house and staff. Every interaction was easy and kind, the house was incredibly well kept, and the grounds were gorgeous. It's located a bit out of the way which is perfect for minimizing crowds and noise! Our room was perfectly sized and the bed/bedding comfortable. All in all, a 10/10. Highly recommend to anyone in any stage of life.”

“Beautiful building and property. Spacious rooms with decent wifi, fridge, fan and comfortable chairs and bed. Good restaurant in the building too. Enjoyed the critters in the yard: cats, peacocks, Guinea hens, chickens, geese, and scrunchy faced pigs. Would have loved to have stayed longer. ”

“We had a great couple of days. The room was very spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. We were well looked after and would definitely stay here again the next time we visit the Lake District. ”

“Gorgeous Hotel centrally located in the village of Hawkshead, room had all the facilities, key pad entry so no keys to carry Bottles of water by the bedside and even my favourite Costa Coffee pods for the coffee maker Beautiful restaurant/cafe downstairs. Breakfast was included in my stay and was one of the best I’ve had Staff were very helpful and very nice Really can’t fault it and would definitely stay again ”

“Ambleside Townhouse is so conveniently located to shops, restaurants, and hiking trails. The folks are accommodating and friendly; they really went the distance in making our stay comfortable and convenient. My only suggestion would be mini-split a/c units in the rooms - despite the comfortable temperatures, the humidity was uncomfortable at times. ”

“Spacious, comofrtable room. Cool in the heatwave. Good sleep. Plenty of options for meals nearby. Parking is in public pay-car-park, but cheap rate overnight after 7pm”

“The location is great, just a few minutes to the town centre. The area is quiet so you can take a nice rest after a long hike. The room is very comfy and seems it’s newly renovated.”

“A very satisfied stay at the Hawksmoor Guest House. The staff were very welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. Breakfast was amazing and cooked from scratch. Our room was available earlier than stated and was very clean and comfortable. The location was great too, just a 15 minute walk to the town and Lake Windermere. We would highly recommend a stay here!! The Hollands!! ”

“I stayed at this hotel for three nights at the end of August 2025. The hotel has a private car park with plenty of spaces. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room and en-suite bathroom I was allocated were clean and both very well equipped. The bed was comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. The breakfast was excellent. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.”
