Dirty rooms with roaches, they just aren’t nice but the most basic things you’ll have. The towels were stained and dirty as well

Loved the location and pleasant, helpful staff. The comfortable Room was well layed out and appointed. I particularly like that the hotel arranged a well priced comfort car for me to go to Newark airport.

Nice hotel but rooms are dated and in need of a refurb

We loved our stay at the Belle Claire! The hotel was charming and clean, located in a great area. The staff were friendly and helpful. The coffee shop was wonderful too! Definitely will be staying again when we visit.

The hotel lobby was nice. The staff were helpful. But the rooms were dated. The elevator go up and down to our room was super slow. And always crowded.

Booked a 2 night stay for my boyfriend and myself to surprise him for his birthday. So close to Times Square and Central Park if that's what you want. We took the train in from NJ and just had our backpacks, so it was a short walk from Penn Station. We were on the 17th floor, so did not have any street noise. The room was spotless and was larger than expected. We had to wait 15 minutes past check-in time of 3pm, as our room wasn't quite ready, but that wasn't a big deal. We ate breakfast at both of the restaurants on-site and used the $6.50pp vouchers. The food was delicious, especially at Bond 45, but you do need to chose from their pre-fixed menu. The cost of the room was well worth it booking through Expedia, but then of course, the taxes, fees and surcharges are added on top of that, but for a hotel in mid town Manhattan, still a great price. We did get a free bottle of red wine, a bag of chips and chocolate bar. The hotel was built in 1931 and they still keep the decor and Frank Sinatra music playing, so for families with young children, this may not be the right fit for you. A great value for the money and will definitely stay here again!

Lovely property I’m giving a lower score because our first night and employee let himself into our room while we were sleeping!! He knocked first then entered with fresh towels at midnight which we never asked for. This was unacceptable!! Second night we got another unexpected knock when sleeping again saying it was engineering and did our card not work or was door not responding? My answer was NEITHER! We never called about any key issue. We would have loved to give 5 stars as the hotel is clean, cute and quiet with a great location and good amenities like fresh juice bar and coffee. Sadly nobody trued to make this right it’s very disappointing!
