Vacations Close To Statue of Liberty

Housekeeping was great. Rooms were clean.

The hotel is very well situated, and we got great service (shoutout to Manuel at reception!). The public areas and the room were all very clean and well maintained. The room doors slam very loudly, and so when other guests leave or arrive early morning or late at night we hear doors slamming. It would be accommodating if complimentary water bottles were replenished daily and not just upon arrival. We would stay there again!

The hotel is undergoing renovations, which is not mentioned in the booking. The entrance on the Expedia page is closed. The lobby pictured is closed. The restaurant is closed. Elevators are finicky and take forever. Our room had a GREAT view; but that is the only good thing. There were pubic hairs in the bed, in the bathroom, on the desk. The furniture was beat up, more than what I consider “normal.” The headboard was dirty with handprints and -substances- (unsure what). There was mold in the bathroom. The closet doors were missing. We left this hotel and went to The Edison. Paid the same price and the facility and staff was AMAZING. Staff here did not want to help with a refund. It was like pulling teeth. Management doesn’t answer the phone. I had to resort to contacting my credit card company for a refund. The property finally got in contact with Expedia to refund me, after the fact. Staff at our other hotel informed me this hotel had been a shelter during COVID — which is wonderful — but appears it should have been renovated prior to reopening as a hotel.

The property was severely outdated/ there was no ramp for my mother’s wheelchair, And the front desk was horrible. After I struggled to help my mom up stairs in front of the hotel, the front desk attendant made no effort to help or provide us with help. And the hotel hallways made it challenging to push a wheelchair- another reason the front desk should have foreseen the headaches we would endure going from the elevator to the room. I will say the room was clean but the service was NOT accessible friendly.

We love this hotel! Our daughter goes to NYU and the location is perfect. Our check in ritual is to head over to Whole Foods and the wine shop on Bowery to stock up the mini fridge. The rooms and common spaces are immaculate. Early complimentary coffee on the Lobby level is so appreciated. Can't wait for our next stay!

The location was amazing so close to Times Square and broadway shows. You could walk to Madison square garden and the Empire State building. Comfortable beds and clean. Rooms could use an update but would stay there again.

Expedia, you guys messed up. My credit card was not updated, so I updated my credit card but that payment Never went through. I arrived at the hotel with no room, so I booked two separate rooms on the spot. Thank God they still have room, but I had to pay quite a bit more for the room rates. The upsetting thing was that until the day I checked in, I kept on receiving Expedia emails welcoming me to NYC, leading me to the wrong conclusion that I was firmly booked, and I was only let in the know about my room upon arrival. Please don't charge me for this trip since the payment didn't go through to the hotel, and I think you should refund me the difference in the rate I paid and the rate I supposed to get from Expedia.
