“Building is grand and everything you expect from a stately manor. Once inside the large staircase area is breathtaking! Room was comfortable, clean and everything I could want was there. Dinner was in the restaurant which was lovely! Breakfast I had delivered to my room for a small fee and was also delicious. Every single member of staff that I came into contact with was extremely helpful, polite and friendly. This was a lovely little break to relax and visit friends and I would stay here again.”

“Room was dirty, scuffed paintwork, stained carpet, skirting boards thick with grime and dust, cobwebs and dead bugs (in the cobwebs) on the ceiling. Not to mention the previous guests dirty towels and sheets were left in a heap in the middle of the floor. At £200 per night excluding breakfast I expect much much better. Very disappointing.”

“The hotel is not in Oxford, is actually 30 minutes drive from the actual city and just a few rooms have air conditioning. If you plan to come during summer, the rooms are quite hot.”

The only problem was another guest with his music on in the car at 7am (Sunday), for about 20 minutes before he decided to turn it off and go to his room. Luckily we were awake anyway. “Habitaciones perfectamente limpias. No hay limpieza a diario (ni falta que hace), pero sí te ofrecen toallas nuevas y cualquier cosa que necesites. Obviamente, las instalaciones no son modernas. Es un hotel antiguo, histórico, y ahí radica buena parte de su encanto. Tuvimos un problema con la accesibilidad y lo resolvieron con gran amabilidad y eficacia. El pub del hotel es encantador, y el patio, delicioso para comer o tomar algo cuando hace buen tiempo.”
