“Simply wonderful and lovely with attention to detail. Nice touches like fresh flower and double sink bathrooms. Beautiful little town wish we had more time to stay. Self check in property. Was lower floor with alley and restaurant patio outside windows but no real noise. The ambiance was terrific.”

“For a simple stay over this is an excellent pub with rooms, nothing fancy but very welcoming. all rooms basic but en suite and have all that is required for a simple stay. In the bar/restaurant the food is good and the beer is as well. Wi Fi available throughout but can be a little patchy in the bedrooms. Breakfast is cooked to order with good fresh ingredients and is first rate. I stay here frequently and will continue to do so.”

At check-in, I wasn’t shown to my room and was simply pointed in the general direction. “Our luxury double room was spacious, clean and kept clean by staff each day. The only comment we would make was that the continental breakfast was not exciting and therefore somewhat disappointing for my wife who does not eat the cooked option.”

“This older home was well maintained and comfy. It was close to the centre of Banbury and down the hill to Banbury Cross and the statue of the lady on the horse. Breakfast is included and there is a wide range of cold or hot meal options; there is a kettle in the room with tea bag’s and coffee packs with sugar and UHT milk made it easy to have a hot drink in your room early morning or in the evening.
