“I never received any messages to say that I had to contact the hotel if I was arriving after 10pm from Expedia. Only when I arrived and reception was closed did I look at their website which stated that fact. Therefore I could not stay because I couldn’t check in and had no choice but to drive away. I understand it was not refundable, but I did expect to stay the night at least. In summary I got charged for the pleasure and couldn’t even stay. I paid for breakfast too. Poor communications. “It’s a real pub, so smokers and drinkers in the courtyard as we were shown to our room. Spotless and allowed to enter it early as it was ready for us. Staff were very welcoming and the choice and quality of breakfast was excellent.”
