“I have stayed in Sri Lanka 4 times previously so I know what to expect. The Eden hotel employees are very kind and polite. But other taxi providers are not allowed to take you to or pick you up from the hotel! So the extortion on taxi fare charges is controlled to the point where nobody will charge you less than 9,000 rupees to take you to the airport and we even hear of violence between taxi drivers if you don’t use the taxi drivers that control completely the Eden hotel gates!!!!!”

Internet seems to cut out constantly at check-out time (I saw this happen every one of the five days I was there...curious that internet fails everyday at the same time!) so impossible to order an uber and you end up taking their taxis which are double the price!!!
