We had a sea facing room. Great view. Infinity pool on top floor. Lots of dining options within walking distance or an inexpensive uber tuktuk ride away. For those who like dosas there is a restaurant called A2B a couple of blocks away facing the sea, 5 min walk. Japanese loo in the bathroom! Loved this. Train station opposite the hotel, but these are not frequent and it didn’t bother us.

Our go to hotel in Colombo

The Granbell is our favourite hotel whenever we are in Colombo. The staff are really friendly and very efficient, check in super fast. The infinity pool on the roof offers amazing views across to Port City and the 'Bar on Top ' is also situated on the roof and offers a great selection of food and drinks.

This hotel is right on the water, with beautiful views! Two rooftop pools, an on site spa, jacuzzi near the gym with excellent views, nice staff. I love that my bathtub has a view of the sea, too. Room is very comfortable with good amenities. Highly recommend.

Hotel was lovely, staff were great, but make sure you explain clearly what you’d like for room service as the have Us rice instead of noodles… twice! Also if booking through Expedia for 2 adults and a child make sure your bedding is correct as we received a king bed only!

End your Sri Lanka stay here!

We had a lovely stay at Granbell Hotel Colombo. It closed out our two week stay in Sri Lanka, and was one of our highlights. The hotel itself is modern, comfortable and well located. The rooms are incredibly well suited for couples - perfectly sized and with an amazing view (if you are debating, upgrade to a sea view)! My only complaint is that the menu prices exclude VAT, and you are unaware of this until you receive your first bill! It means that the hotel is unfortunately very unreasonable for food and drink for Sri Lanka - but there are plenty of eating options in Colombo.

Absolutely stunning hotel, highly recommend a sea view room here. Beautiful room, excellent view, even the gym is rooms including dance studio have ocean views! Rooftop pool overlooking the ocean is magnificent, with nice minima progressive house music playing. Staff are the best. Just book your stay already!
