“The stables was a bit difficult to find but once we got there we were able to call reception. Check in was quite straightforward and we were able to get to the room quickly. The room was really nice and clean, comes with Wi-Fi and a mini fridge as well as a hot tub on the balcony with plenty of privacy. We were able to go on a few trails as close as 10mins away to explore the Peak District. Lots of fun hikes to do for different abilities. The steakhouse next door was amazing, the chef of...

“Upon arrival to Splash Landings we went to the bar to order drinks. Over 10 minutes later we still had no drinks as the barman could not operate the till or simply pour a slushy. When we had breakfast in the morning it took longer to find a clean plate than it did to get breakfast. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable but we were only staying one night so we made do. I always strip the beds after we stay over at hotels to help the domestic staff and I was utterly disgusted by the bedding...

10. Bank House Hotel

“Firstly this is in no way a reflection of the staff who are fantastic.... This hotel is so tired it's awful. I understand it's old but thats no excuse for zero maintenance. 2 double sockets in the room, both had only one working properly. The safety procedure sheet from the back of the door was on the floor next to the broken coat hanger. The bed base has an awful stain on it which is right in view. 2 windows have no curtains. There is only one chair in the room, which is falling apart, and no...

“Will not be returning, staff not helpful at all, dog friendly but couldn’t even let the dog have a sausage at breakfast as they had ran out, they had also ran out of biscuits for the room, garden peas and orange juice. Not a cheap nights stay so these things should not be running out!! Best staff were the morning we were leaving, had they had been on all weekend it would have made it a more pleasant stay”

“We stayed at Littleover Lodge for 2 nights in the mezzanine room with our toddler whilst visiting family in the area. The room was huge, albeit a bit basic, with a downstairs area that was great for our toddler to play in, and the hotel provided us with a travel cot for him. Everything was clean and tidy. The rooms are a bit dated and are maybe due a bit of TLC, but it doesn't affect the experience. We were in the room right next to the pub and couldn't hear anything, even on the bank holiday...
