“We were greeted by a lovely lady Sharon on reception who was very kind and helpful and helped us with our suitcases up the stairs to our room. The staff in the breakfast room were pleasant but not very well trained and at times confused. The Room was a little tired and could do with a refresher. “Great location, clean rooms”

“Very good place with dinner and breakfast available. We paid too much via Expedia”

“Hannah and Kendal were extremely helpful to us when confused with booking, Hannah rearranged everything to suit our needs, thank you Hannah. Everything from start to finish was really great and made our diamond anniversary break even more special for us. Even the weather was good so we could go out and about with no problem. All the staff were really friendly and helpful and looked after us rally well. WOULD HIGHLY Recommend staying at the Anchor Inn. Thank youfor everything.”

“Such a friendly owner. Comfortable bed and top rated room with loads of interesting quirky things to look at. Breakfast was to order the night before at a time of your choice. Brought to your room and was of a good quality. Would stay there again. We were in the Birch room.”

“Lovely old building, beautifully clean and comfortable. Steve and Fiona were very welcoming and kind. Also, they cooked a mean breakfast from a varied menu. It was delicious. The only downside was the lack of parking outside The Bakehouse. It proved to be very difficult but the upside was that approx 60 yards away was a Car Park for only £3.30 for 24 hours! Highly recommend The Bakehouse if you are planning a visit to East Devon.”
