“Our first view of the Royal Lion Inn was the renovation structures right at their front entrance. We are not sure if that was due to structural integrity issue or aesthetic reasons. “Honestly it’s a dump. Tiny dirty rooms. Smelly pub with bad food. The location on the sea front is perhaps its benefit but it’s in a parking lot. Avoid”

“We were only there one night and didn’t eat there in the evening but breakfast was excellent. Room was spacious with excellent open plan bathroom facilities. Pleasant walk into Sidmouth ( approx 3.5 ) miles round trip Ticked all the boxes for what we needed. Would stay again”
