“There’s definite room for improvement here. Our room wasn’t cleaned to a good standard the bathroom had stains, and the bedding felt old (we unfortunately encountered bed bugs). The TV wasn’t working, and the door system was unreliable, often requiring extra effort to get in. Food was on the pricey side for what was offered, and while the room includes a stove, it would help to have basic utensils and drinking water provided given the rates charged. “There are two Kakwele Lodges. The one we stayed at was further from the airport in a back street of Lusaka, about a 20 minute drive. We were charged $15 for each of the 4 journeys to and from the airport, which I considered to be excessive. The room at the lodge was adequate, but a little cramped (especially the shower).
