My best friend and I had a great time for her 30th birthday. The atmosphere is so relaxing and the food wasn’t bad for all inclusive. Shoutout to Xavier, Wilson, Mary, and Orlando for being so accommodating. We will be back!

Riu Palace Macao is a beautiful resort. The grounds are well maintained & immaculate. Upon arrival we were not given instructions or details about our Elite Club offers. We did not know that we could go to a specific restaurant, bar, or the exclusive part of the beach which caused us to miss out on perks. We did not discover it until we were randomly approached by management. By then our trip was halfway over. Luz is the best! She gave us a tour & a better understanding. The restaurant food could be better. We did not enjoy any of our meals. The service is really slow & the waiters are forgetful. We had to ask often where pieces of our orders were, whether it was a drink or a food item. A small percentage of the staff had nasty attitudes namely, the lady at the pastry counter. We could hear patrons exiting the shop commenting about her nasty attitude. The best food we had was at the buffet. There are many options to choose from. Pepe’s has the best fried chicken. Carlos, German, & Lopez were amazing. We truly appreciate their hospitality. Please be prepared to be aggressively approached by multiple salespeople on their beach selling overpriced junk! They hardly take no for an answer. It was literally one after the other. I have NEVER been to the beach on a resort where I couldn’t just relax. The entertainment is horrible. There’s not much to do on the resort if you are not doing an excursion. Overall our stay was just okay. We will not be returning.

If you mean 1,500 characters (Expedia review limits are usually characters, not words), use this tighter version: 1★ Extremely disappointing experience We booked 2 rooms for 4 nights but checked out after only 1 night due to the cleanliness and how our concerns were handled. Both rooms were dirty, with stained bedding/floors and ants in the bathroom and even inside the hair dryer. We have photos documenting everything. When we requested a replacement dryer, a staff member picked the ant-filled dryer up from outside our room, sprayed bug spray inside AND outside of it, then handed the same dryer back to us to use. We were speechless and completely lost confidence in the resort’s cleanliness. The next day, we explained that we no longer felt comfortable staying and asked to transfer to their sister resort, Excellence El Carmen, even offering to pay the difference. They refused and told us we had to make a completely new booking ourselves. They offered a room upgrade, but after what happened, we no longer felt comfortable staying anywhere on the property. We contacted Expedia before leaving about a refund and followed the hotel’s instructions to complete an early-checkout form. We then paid separately for 3 nights at El Carmen. After we rebooked, a customer service manager even came out with an attitude and blamed us for leaving. Despite using only 1 of 4 nights, the hotel ultimately refused to authorize a refund for the 3 unused nights. We tried every reasonable option be
