“I so want this place to succeed! It’s in the most picturesque village, but needs some TLC after a string of management changes. New team comes in August. The bedrooms are clean, small, very comfortable and well designed. Current staff are lovely, but they’re leaving in 2 weeks.”

“We were impressed by the friendliness and excellent service provided by all staff. Our room (no 6) was comfortable. Just one note of warning: the entrance way to the bathroom is VERY low; it is a safety issue calling for attention. Dinners in the restaurant were well suited to hungry walkers: we enjoyed the food; it was well prepared and presented. Breakfasts were good; a bowl of fresh fruit and a better range of cereals would have been welcome. The hotel is in a very pleasant and peaceful...

“The room was lovely and clean, bed was comfortable and the shower was amazing. The WiFi throughout was good enough to stream tv and the restaurant was great. We had dinner and breakfast and couldn’t fault either. If we are back in the area we would define stay again.”

“Really comfortable, quiet and clean bedroom, the bathroom was on the small side and not as nice as the rest of the room (still nice enough). The staff were friendly but seemed very busy so they just gave us the key and pointed us in the direction of the outbuiling where our bedroom was located. If you have heavy luggage or struggle with stairs our room would not be for you as there were some very steep stairs.”

“We had such a welcoming stay at the Mary Mount. The views are incredible. The staff are really lovely. We found the breakfast to be of a very good standard. Fabulous stay. We will definitely be staying again.”

“I didn't like the amount of stairs because our bags were heavy (2 week trip) woth multiple stays. Also, a key from the front desk was necessary in order to access the pool. The location, however was very nice. Right in the square and walkable to food, shopping etc.”

“Amazing staff, great location and parking The food is average and the menu is very limited, the room (19) has been updated recently but was right by the the main road and a noisy extract fan on the floor below which came on at 4.15am every morning. Overall it’s a nice big hotel that has been in the process of renovation for the last few years. It would be a much better experience if they could expand the menu and quality of the food.”

“Beautiful property in the grounds of Greystoke Castle. Idyllic. The hostess was very welcoming and showed us round the room. Everything is well thought out, even provided a torch to use if you are out late. Welcome fruit and water in the fridge in the room and an extensive choice of hot drinks available to make. Fresh milk available in the room too. Very comfortable stay and wide choice of food for breakfast all freshly prepared.”
